Ledbury Heritage Centre

Explore the history of Ledbury at the Old Grammar School in Church Lane

About the Ledbury Heritage Centre

The Old Grammar school is a long, low half-timbered building sitting at the top of Church Lane, the cobbled street that runs from the Market House up to the parish chuch of St Michaels and All Angels.

On the ground floor is the Heritage Centre, a museum about the history of the town’s buildings. It is the ideal place to start your exploration of Ledbury!

Free to visit and lots to do

You will find lots of information about Ledbury over the centuries. Knowledgeable stewards will happily tell you more and point you to some of the most interesting places to see. There is a small gift shop with postcards and other souvenirs (many of them locally produced) to buy.

Activities for Younger Visitors

There are quizzes for children to complete and objects for them to handle.

Following on from the very popular Lamb Quiz with its engaging drawings which has previously delighted younger visitors to the Heritage Centre we now have another quiz sheet designed for slightly older children. The Discovery Trail features William, a Ledbury wool merchant and has questions and puzzles pitched at just the right level to engage the 7+ age group. The Discovery Trail includes charming drawings by one of our volunteers and local artist Gina Lincoln.
