The Burgage Hall

This was built as a congregational Chapel in 1852.

The Burgage Hall

Tucked away down Church Lane in the very centre of Ledbury, the Burgage Hall can be found behind the Butchers Row Museum. The hall got its name from the ‘burgage plots’ on which many of Ledbury’s buildings stand. To find out more visit the Ledbury Civic Society’s website: A History of Burgage Hall

Spacious and light, with high ceilings and a gallery, The Burgage Hall was built in 1852 as a Congregational Chapel, but by the 1950s had fallen into disuse. It was restored by the Ledbury and District Civic Society in 1985 and Ledbury Places bought the building from Ledbury Town Council under the Government’s Asset Transfer Scheme in 2015. Ledbury and District Civic Society now manage it as a popular venue for meetings, parties, classes and exhibitions, and it is the venue for the popular Ledbury Country Market on a Friday morning.

It is available to hire from the Civic Society.
